The University of North Texas’ Departments of Counseling & Higher Education and Rehabilitation and Health Services (UNT-CHE-RHS) proposed a joint venture with the Cultural and Linguistic Awareness Support Services in Counseling (UNT CLASSIC) program to address disparities by enhancing the delivery of culturally competent mental health services for African American and Hispanic populations(minority communities) in the DFW Metroplex.

The overarching goal of UNT CLASSIC is to address the mental health workforce shortage and enhance the delivery of culturally competent mental health services for minority communities through the development and implementation of culturally competent, interprofessional education (IPE) and clinical training of graduate students and professionals.
